The Louisiana Association of Behavioral Health Providers is a group of Louisiana Medicaid Providers licensed by the Louisiana Department of Health Standards who provide behavioral health and substance abuse treatment to Medicaid recipients in Louisiana.
Our mission is to advocate for effective, quality behavioral healthcare treatment for Medicaid recipients in Louisiana by raising public awareness and providing a platform for exchange of ideas between consumers, providers, advocates, legislators and government for improving behavioral healthcare in the state.
Membership is open to all licensed and accredited behavioral health and substance abuse provider types. The LABHP contracts with 2 lobbyists who advocate for our members and promote our agenda to those that make decisions about the provision of Medicaid behavioral healthcare in the State. Our governing board meets monthly, or more often as needed, to discuss current issues and problems that affect the provision of services to recipients and set the agenda for the association. Members receive frequent updates via email or forum on this website as to program changes or Managed Care Company policy changes that may affect their agency.
